[Peninsula-Patriots] Fwd: Want food.....then make a phone call

OUR RIGHTS ARE BEING THREATENED EVERY DAY - HERE IS ANOTHER ACTION NEEDED  TODAY TO PROTECT THEM - SENT FROM CHAIRMAN DAVIS - Mathews Republican Committee.
HOWEVER, IT EFFECTS ALL COUNTIES IN VIRGINIA:

Folks,

Here is something you can do to protect Mathews County from over reaching government...................

There is a move in Northern Virginia to stop farmers from selling produce from their farms.  If the dollar collapses and grocery stores close, farmers will be our only hope for fresh food.  Read the two articles below please and then call the Virginia Farm Bureau to ask why they oppose this common sense farm protection bill that counteracts the Northern Virginia effort.  Ask for Trey Davis....804 514 1295. They say they oppose the bill because there was no buy in by all stakeholders.  What they really mean is that the Farm Bureau was not consulted first and their feelings are hurt.

Also the Virginia Association of Counties is opposing this farm protection bill because individual counties want to regulate small farmers.  Our Board of Supervisors belongs to the Association.

Time is of the essence to make the call.  The bill is being debated at 5PM Monday.

Call Delegate Keith Hodges also or send him an email.

Here is one of the best articles on the right to farm that I have read.

Definitely go to the below website.  Lots of discussion on the merits of the bill.
