There are two bills ( Smart Meters and Drones ) on the docket to be heard on Monday, January 21. Please contact members of the committees without delay.
 
SB797   Smart Meter Bill  prohibits any electric utility from installing an advanced meter on your property or requiring the installation of one unless you request it. Further, if one is already installed, they would have to replace it with an analog meter if you request it. It also prohibits them from charging you a penalty or higher rate if you refuse an advanced meter.
 
SB797  Smart Meter Bill  has been assigned to the Senate Committee on Commerce and Labor.
