Spring Happenings in Historic Yorktown

The trolley provides transportation throughout the village of Historic Yorktown from the Yorktown Battlefield to the Yorktown Victory Center, as well as several stops in between, including Riverwalk Landing.  Daily March 17 – Nov. 4 with extended hours of 10 am to 6 pm, May 26-Sept. 3. Free.
 
Watermen's Museum (309 Water Street)
Tells the story of the maritime traditions of the Chesapeake Bay watermen.  April-Christmas Tues.-Sat., 10 am to 4 pm; Sun., 1 to 4 pm.  309 Water Street.  Admission. $ (757) 877.2641

Riverwalk Landing Pier

Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop at Riverwalk Landing in Historic Yorktown will be holding their annual Free Cone Day.  100% of all donations collected will be contributed to the Lackey Free Clinic in Yorktown, the HELP Clinic in Hampton, and the Gloucester- Mathews Clinic.  These facilities offer free medical care, dental care and prescriptions to the uninsured.  Ben & Jerry's is located at 332 Water St., Bldg. Yorktown Battlefield
Reenactment artillery units representing American artillery from the 1700s, 1800s, and 1900s will help commemorate the 150th anniversary of Yorktown's role in the 1862 Civil War Peninsula Campaign.  New exhibits telling Yorktown's Civil War history will open at the Yorktown National Cemetery Lodge. Yorktown Battlefield

Saturday, April 28 – Bring the kids and join Captain Mayhem's school of Piracy and the crew aboard the Schooner Serenity. Learn to set the sails, steer the schooner, and fire the cannon. Anyone dressed as a pirate in costume will get a $ 5 discount for the 11:30 am sail. Concessions available for purchase.  Admission. $ 757-639-1233
