This comes from Andy & Sue Sadler.

This is good news if you are concerned about health issues related to electric smart meters. There may be an extra charge if you opt for a radiation free meter. I don't think the amount of that charge has yet been determined. If you need to know more, just let me know.

Subject: Fwd: FW: Dominion offers Smart Meter Opt Out!

Dear Friends,
THIS IS EXCITING NEWS FROM THE TEA PARTY FEDERATION COMMITTEE ON LEGISLATIVE ACTION! PEASE FORWARD ...WE NEED TO LET PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THE OPT-OUT!

KUDOS to the CoLA 'Stop Smart Meters Team'

Dominion customers CAN NOW OPT-OUT !

There are still questions about the fees mentioned below; under what circumstances could the disabled features (interim?) be reactivated; and we will continue to work on the grid security aspects of smart meters.

For those of you with different providers, use Dominion as an example to demand an OPT-OUT option from your own power company executives.

Many thanks to Susan Lascolette who lead this Federation CoLA effort for all her hard work and to Senator Tom Garrett who sponsored SB797.

JUST IN....

Good news!!!! Dominion is now offering a smart meter
opt out! This option is only available to residential customers and you must
ask for it to receive it. They will not replace your meter with an analog
meter, however, we have been told that there will be no radio frequency
microwave emissions from the new meters which they are calling Non-Communicating
Meters.

According to Dominion, ?The Non-Communicating meters
are Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) or Smart Meters with both the
two-way communications and data storage features disabled, the only recording
features retained are the minimum needed for monthly billing. Because the
Non-Communicating Meters? remote communication abilities have been
disabled, a Company representative will manually read the meter.

For the Interim Non-Communicating Meter Option, the Company
will not assess a separate charge to install and use a Non-Communicating Meter.
The Company plans to propose a charge for the Non-Communicating Meter Option,
which will be subject to approval by the State Corporation Commission of
Virginia.?

To sign up for the smart meter opt-out plan call Dominion at
1-866-566-6436 between 7 am and 7 pm. They will mail you paperwork to fill out
and return to them after which they say they will come out to your home to do
the meter exchange within 3 weeks.

Be sure to urge your neighbors to choose to opt out as well,
or the microwave radiation from their meters will run through your house (and
body) and impact you. Attached is a flyer and article on smart meters you can
use to educate them on this issue.
