Tea Party to launch news network, seeks writers

July 11, 2012. Washington. One of the nation's largest Tea Party organizations has announced it will soon be launching its own news network. At these early stages, organizers are accepting applications from writers, reporters and bloggers who wish to write for the new conservative news outlet. Interested individuals must be supporters of Tea Party principles such as limited government, free markets and personal responsibility. Keep reading to find out how to apply.
Calling it "historic" and "exciting",TheTeaParty.net plans to launch the Tea Party News Network on a nationwide basis. The multi-platform news outlet will include "a vast network of bloggers, daily email, breaking news and live stream television to bring the real news to the American people." Organizers didn't mention if they are accepting requests for online television personalities, such as news anchors and reporters. Most likely, the online television division will consist of a mix of in-house productions, as well as off-site segments provided by viewers and individual Tea Partiers.
Bloggers and writers
The online television portion aside, Tea Party organizers have announced that they are accepting applications from those who wish to write daily news stories for the soon to be launched news network. Patterning itself after the Huffington Post and Examiner.com, the Tea Party News Network even offers to pay its writers for the original articles they write and submit.
As described in The Tea Party.net's email announcement, "Bloggers will be compensated for each blog they write that we use. Compensation will be based on the blogger's experience and other factors. The best bloggers can eventually be given a full time position based on the quality of their previous work."
About TheTeaParty.net
For writers and bloggers wondering how closely their political views align with the Tea Party's, the organization's website summarizes their core beliefs. Titled, 'What is the Tea Party?', the section explains:
'The Tea Party movement is a grassroots movement of millions of like-minded Americans from all backgrounds and political parties. Tea Party members share similar core principles supporting the United States Constitution as the Founders intended, such as:
  • Limited federal government
  • Individual freedoms
  • Personal responsibility
  • Free markets
  • Returning political power to the states and the people
As a movement, The Tea Party is not a political party nor is looking to form a third political party any time soon. The Tea Party movement, is instead, about reforming all political parties and government so that the core principles of our Founding Fathers become, once again, the foundation upon which America stands.'
How to apply
Individuals interested in becoming writers and reporters for the new Tea Party News Network are instructed to send a cover letter and a brief description of, "why you believe you would make a good blogger for the tea party movement and a history of your experience and background." Those two items can be emailed to info@theteaparty.net. Applicants are also asked to send samples, or links to samples, of some of their blogs or other writings. New or unpublished writers are also invited to apply and will be considered as well.
Tea Party supporters are also reminded that the entire Tea Party movement is holding a 'Tea Party Unity Rally' on August 26 in Tampa, Florida. This event is being held in the same city as the Republican National Convention and on the day before the convention begins. Tampa will also see two other rallies that day, one for Ron Paul convention delegates and another for Ron Paul and the entire liberty movement.
