[Peninsula-Patriots] Fw: Anti-gun nightmare in VA

The gun-grabbers just never seem to take a day off.

For the second consecutive week, the Militia and Police Subcommittee will consider a raft of outrageous anti-gun bills.

Here are some of the worst measures up for consideration:

*** HB 2240 compels Virginia law-enforcement to register even more gun owners with Obama's Attorney General Eric Holder. It will be used to prevent law-abiding folks like you and me from purchasing firearms.

*** HB 2251 bans any magazine over 20 rounds, setting the stage to ratchet down the legal magazine size step by step.

*** HB 2221 imposes huge burdens on dealers and private sellers, who could be tossed into jail simply because they "should have known" about their customers' private health matters.

*** HB 2263 gives government the power to seize firearms and ammunition based on not much more than a rumor.

*** HB 2327 reinstates the despotic one-gun per month law that was repealed in 2012 after a strenuous two-decade battle with gun-grabbing nanny-staters.

If you and I are going to stop these bills, pro-gun citizens must respectfully demand that the Delegates on the Sub-Committee kill each and every one.

Standing together, the grassroots can defeat the anti-gun crowd's efforts to capitalize on tragedy and undermine freedom.

And with just one day until the meeting at 5:00pm on Thursday, January 24th, time is running out.

Please take the time to contact the members of Sub-Committee #1 and let them know you stand in firm opposition to HB 2240, HB 2251, HB 2221, HB 2263 and HB 2327.

Local motor fuels tax. Authorizes any county or city to impose a tax at a rate not to exceed $0.10 per gallon on motor fuel sold by a wholesale distributor to a retail dealer in the locality. The revenue from such tax shall be used solely for transportation projects.

As I said, protect ourselves, our locality and our state. Here is your opportunity to really do something. A couple of phone calls is all that is needed.

Bob Marshall and Dick Black have introduced HB 2340. A synopsis and legislative progress is listed below. It does not go as far as I would like but it is a start.

The bill has been assigned to the Militia, Police and Public Safety subcommittee. Call Marshall's office in Richmond and ask his aide what you can do to help get this bill out of committee. The aide may want you to call a member or two of the subcommittee and ask for their support. Marshall's Richmond office number is 804 698 1013

HOUSE BILL NO. 2340

Offered January 18, 2013

A BILL to prevent any agency, political subdivision, or employee of Virginia from assisting the Federal government of the United States in any investigation, prosecution, detention, arrest, search, or seizure, under the authority of any federal statute enacted, or Executive Order or regulation issued, after December 31, 2012, infringing the individual Right to Keep and Bear Arms by imposing new restrictions on private ownership or private transfer of firearms, firearm magazines, ammunition, or components thereof.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. Notwithstanding any contrary provision of law, no agency of the Commonwealth as defined in § 8.01-385 of the Code of Virginia, no political subdivision of the Commonwealth as defined in § 8.01-385 of the Code of Virginia, and no employee of either, acting in his official capacity, shall:

(A) knowingly aid any employee or entity of the federal government of the United States in any investigation, prosecution, detention, or arrest, nor participate in any search or seizure, relating to any, criminal, civil, or administrative restrictions on firearms, firearm magazines, ammunition, or components thereof, based on any federal statute enacted, or Executive Order or regulation issued, after December 31, 2012; or

(B) knowingly aid any employee or entity of the federal government of the United Sates in conducting, or the enforcement of any requirement for, any background check related to any intrastate sale, loan, gift, or other transfer of firearms between citizens of the Commonwealth who do not possesses any federal firearms license under 18 U.S.C. section 293.

Jazeera's illegal broadcasts into the U.S. And the final speaker is Judson Phillips, the founder of Tea
Party Nation, one of the largest Tea Party Groups in the country and the number
one national Tea Party site on the Internet.
